Chakra-healing Art (Copyright pending)
Participating in specific art-making activities can help unblock and strengthen individual chakra - or energy - centers in the body. Art-making can also be an avenue for expressing chakra energy at a particular moment in time, leading to profound physical, emotional and spiritual insights. No art experience is necessary to benefit from participation in chakra-healing art; the way you work with each medium and the experience you have with it are more important than the finished product.
In addition to teaching Chakra Healing Art at HeartSpace, Elizabeth will facilitate a chakra-healing art series at Angel Light Center for the Healing Arts, Elm Grove, Wisconsin in Winter 2008/Spring 2009. The series is a certificate program through the center's Art Of Healing Institute. For more information see Events/Workshops or www.angellightllc.com.
Free Programs at Stillwaters Cancer Support Services
This fall, Elizabeth will facilitate on-going body-mind-spirit workshops, as well as a single workshop on Voices of the Heart (writing an ethical will), for those with cancer at Stillwaters Cancer Support Services in Waukesha, Wisconsin. Stillwaters is a community-based, not-for profit organization providing supportive services for cancer patients, survivors, family and friends. For more information on dates and times for workshops see Events/Workshops or contact www.stillwaterscenter.org.
Writing a Personal Vision Statement
What is the one thing all successful people have in common? A focused vision of themselves and their life's purpose. Elizabeth offers individual and group instruction on how to create and implement a personal vision statement to lend power and commitment to the accomplishment of your goals dreams, plans and vision. Vision statement instruction is a great gift idea for anyone in transition (such as new college and high school graduates, job-seekers, retirees), looking to find direction and meaning in life.
Visual Journaling: Giving Voice to Your Heart
Elizabeth is often asked, "What is visual journaling?"
Visual journaling is a tool for personal growth and exploration using drawing or image-making and journaling. Through image-making your truest feelings can be revealed; through writing, those revealed feelings can be interpreted.
The heart is the voice of inner wisdom. Drawing is the conduit through which that voice can speak. Your heart - if you let it - will guide you through every experience with insight, compassion and perspective that the mind cannot fathom. Seeing your life through the window of the heart can open pathways you never imagined. Through visual journaling you can begin to put aside the non-productive, mind-based question "why did this happen to me?", and begin to ask the soul-based, healing question "why did this happen for me?"
The process of visual journaling will be a focus of Elizabeth's September 27 workshop, Your Life Is A Work Of Art, at The Center To Be, 1501 S. Layton Blvd., Milwaukee. For more information contact Program Director Marjorie Wilbur at 414.672.5932.
Creating Mandalas for Insight, Healing and Self-expression
Mandala is a Sanskrit word that means "whole world" or "sacred circle". It is often referred to as the Circle of Life. A mandala is far more than a simple shape: it represents wholeness, and can be seen as a model for the organizational structure of life itself, from the micro to the macro in the world as we know it. The making of a personal mandala can act as active meditation for the purpose of personal growth and spiritual enrichment. When we create a mandala we make a personal symbol that reveals who we are at a particular moment in time.
Elizabeth facilitates one-on-one mandala sessions, as well as many mandala classes and workshops. See Events/Workshops for more information on her November 5th workshop, Exploring Mandalas Through Drawing And Writing, at Alverno College. Or contact Nancy Krase at 414.382.6200 or www.alverno.edu.
